One of the things we love here at our Kirkcudbright Holiday Cottages is the community of family-run businesses in the area. They all help give Kirkcudbright and the neighbouring towns a unique character that you don’t find on every high street. Like us, these families are putting their time, energy and passion into what they do to make Kirkcudbright and the surrounding area a fantastic place to live, work and visit.
We thought we’d share some of our favourite local businesses for you to explore when you’re here at Galloway Holiday Cottages at High Kirkland. If you get in touch with them, do let them know you heard it here first!
Millburn Street, Kirkcudbright
Jenny specialises in footstools and lamps in beautiful fabrics and you can even attend a hands on course to make something yourself. Courses run throughout the year and you can also find Jenny’s work at craft fairs throughout the region.
St Mary Street, Kirkcudbright
As well as a friendly café open 7.30am-7.30pm six days a week (closed Tuesday), Nick also runs a variety of courses for adults, teenagers and children. You’ll find everything from baking bread and making fresh pasta to easy entertaining and Indian cookery.
