December in Kirkcudbright
December is upon us, and it seems to be a month that is over before it has begun, yet the build up to Christmas and all the preparations feel as though they will go on forever. The presents the tree the feeling of love in the air, yes Christmas is a time to savour and be with those we love, if not in person then in our memories.
The festive season
How lovely then, to be in Kirkcudbright for the festive season, to stand in awe or all the beautiful countryside and breath-taking landscapes, watching as autumn turns slowly to winter, while nature in all her glory bows and welcomes in the season of giving the season that remind us all ‘it is a wonderful life’.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa is making a special visit to Kirkcudbright and rumour has it, he is coming up the river on Saturday, 3rd December 2016, at 3pm, to say hello to all the folks in the town this afternoon so why not take a trip into the town and enjoy the lovely Christmas atmosphere, and delight in all the shops and galleries, full of lovely gifts for you to choose from.
Late night shopping
There is late night shopping in Kirkcudbright town centre on Thursday 8th December 2016 until 8pm, where you will find Santa in his grotto at the Belfry café, there will also be a treasure hunt and lots of street food on sale, not mention, lots of lovely delicious mulled wine and tasty mince pies for you to enjoy. Look out for Gary Lewis who will be in Kirkcudbright at 6pm for the Christmas lights switch on, and to present the citizen of the year award 2016.

It is a wonderful life, and you will have a wonderful time in Kirkcudbright at this lovely time of year, with so much to do and see so many charming restaurants to choose from and with and so many lovely shops and artisan produce to decide upon, you will be spoilt for choice.
